Study Leadership

 

Principal Investigator

Kelly Reavis, PhD, MS, MPH is an epidemiologist and licensed audiologist who has been doing research with the NCRAR for more than 15 years. Her research focus is on the distribution and risk factors of auditory injuries in both Service members and Veterans.

Co-Investigators

Kathleen Carlson, PhD, MS is a Core Investigator in the Portland VA Health Services Research & Development Center of Innovation and the NCRAR. She is an environmental epidemiologist with a research focus on measuring outcomes such as TBI and PTSD, and their exposures, in Veterans.

Sarah Theodoroff, PhD is a Research Investigator/Audiologist at the NCRAR and an Associate Professor with the OHSU Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. She has been with the NOISE study since it began.

M. Samantha Lewis, PhD is the Academic Lead and a Professor in the School of Audiology at Pacific University at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. She is an affiliate of the NCRAR and OHSU and has been on the NOISE study since it began.

 

HCE Site Investigator

Amy Boudin-George, AuD, PhD is the Clinician Scientist for the Defense Health Agency Hearing Center of Excellence (HCE), located at Joint Base San Antonio. She has been a licensed audiologist since 2010 and has been with the HCE since 2014. Her recent work has focused on programmatic gaps analysis for early identification and management of noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus.

LCDR Charlotte Hughes, MD, MPH is the Department Head of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and Audiology at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD.
